It's All About the Modern Recliners   Wednesday 2.26.02 @ 11:21PM by Aaron |
Snow days are uber. Rawr. I saw some people get clobbered by chunks of ice sliding from four story roofs on campus today, and while I felt guilty afterwards, it felt good to laugh. In other news, Hooptie is 44. I'm gonna start doing blow so I can play Dark Age when I'd normally be asleep.
Bill Mahr's show is awesome, though he does bitch about the old show a bit much. He has reason to though, he did work for fucking Disney for godsakes. The conservatives he had on weren't very good ones though. There's this dumb bitch who totally misses the point of each discussion and says stupid things. She said not clapping for the President at the State of the Union saying they were putting in a missile defense system should be considered treasonous. Haha, the country's full of people like this. Man. Sucks to think. By contrast, the liberal/moderate people were badasses. It's good to know there are actually insightful pundit-types on the air.
I was sposed to go clean the FEC tonight after the basketball game but we took too many people and I didn't have to do the work.. Three cheers for being late and not having to work. We're going to Louisiana this weekend (mardi gras mothafucka!). This is one of my favorite tournaments of the year. Oh baby, oh baby.
The other day I tried to make a top 20 all-time songs playlist, and after much heartache and vicodin, I've narrowed it down to about forty-five. I should be done in a couple weeks. Speaking of playlists, that reminds me of projects and that I haven't done anything but quotes and newsposts for like the last eight months. Is anyone out there? Did I lose you? Anyway, I doubt I'll actually have anything soon but I do have it in mind to do something but this bullshit.
I'm gonna make another painful attempt at studying. Need to do a line of coffee grounds.

I Am The Cheese   Tuesday 2.18.03 @ 5:19AM by Aaron |
I don't use AIM much at all so no new quotes yet. I decided to throw that out up front so all the quotes fiends can go ahead and click that X at the top right corner of the window. Ciao, kiddos. I've been sitting around listening to music of sentimental and nostalgic value, namely that related to my sophomore year, which means obscure electronic and trip-hop songs with occasional appearances by Bjork and Doves. My inclination to do this is unclear. Though when in doubt, I suppose any of my irrational behavior could be attributed to my being an idiot or my recreational practices.
Nada Surf? Hmm. Anyway, school's still pretty cool I spose. I haven't acquired any more direction since my last update. Still unemployed and skipping too many classes that don't go towards any specific degree requirements anyway. I'm a Government major (haven't declared it yet though) yet I'm taking no Govt classes. I like to just make up majors when people ask me now. "Yes, Pastor Bruce, I'm a Philology major." "No sir, I study Catechismic Dynamics." My experience in college has been a virtual defecation on the legacy of higher education. Sure, you can be in CompSci. ::POOP::. Yeah, we'll let you back in. ::POOP::... Stand, wipe, repeat.
On top of all this, I'm out of orange juice =(. No emoticon can properly convey the psychological discomfort this has wrought me. OJ is like the mistress to the marriage of Brita and me. Brita suspects but I hide it well. Then she'll find an empty minute maid jug on the floor and glare at me all night... ::sigh::
I've had people promising to write editorials lately but my inbox is as yet empty... Except for the standard 10 Ultimate-related emails per hour. Any I've written or began of late have been a little extreme in thought for even my own tastes. Though I just read through an editorial i wrote over the summer and I'm considering posting it. It has some rather outrageous stuff in it, especially if you've never heard tell of the latest ideas concerning government involvement in recent events. It's much more tame than I remembered it being though, and since Jeff seems to have caught onto this conspiracy stuff I should prolly get my piece out there before his, hehe.
I'm hungry but out of food so I'm gonna crash to suppress it.
Music:
Massive Attack - Prayer For England
Nada Surf - Spooky
Doves - Darker
Fiona Apple - Paper Bag
By the way, Massive Attack's new album 100th Window is fucking fantastic. Rolling Stone gives it 3 out of 5 stars, and I give them the middle finger for being such corporate cocksuckers. What they think of MA is pretty irrelevant..

With So Much Drama In the ATX   Sunday 2.09.03 @ 6:10PM by Aaron |
What a weekend. Considering I haven't updated in three weeks, I should say what a month, but yeah. College is just a maelstrom of pain, pleasure, and utter confusion. I'd prefer it to any other lifestyle or period of life, especially the ones previous to it, but sometimes it's too chaotic. Then there's the occasional respite and everything else aside, all you can say is "Ahh, college."
We had an Ultimate party last night that was fucking money. My favorite parts were Hotsuka rolling up to a pure sausage fest with six very attractive females, and our watching the masterpiece of cinematograhy known as "Dude, Where's My Dildo?" I highly recommend it, fine family fun.
Update:
Quotes - End of pg 4
Quotes - Beginning of pg 5
So I started playing Dark Age again and everyone else is falling into the void with me. Peter ordered a computer, Greg reopened his account, Joey & Jay are both back. Pretty soon we'll only know ourselves as our characters.... And it will rock. Hooptie is 43.5 and we're all going to start up new chars for kicks. Your role in this, pagan non-gamer, is to stop me if I begin to discuss the game in any detail beyond that which interests you. For I can go on at great length, as I already have in this paragraph. At least I don't play on the role-playing servers...
I should wrap this up and study, cos I doubt anyone reads this anymore regardless. I've said this many times, but editorials are actually on the way. Whatever I write for the Travesty will likely be reproduced here, though not as colorfully. Anyway, deuce.
