DJ Dara :: From Here to There
Released: 2000. Moonshine Music.

Very fast, very bass heavy, very fun. I picked up this album after seeing Dara at a rave in Ft. Worth and it is, for lack of a better word, phat. The mixes aren't very complicated and sample-free for the most part but it's just got that Dara touch.

In a genre that's very quickly becoming watered-down and repetitive, DJ Dara shows he's not a knockoff but one of the high priests of modern drum & bass. There is a great variety of atmosphere which lends a helping hand in complimenting the effects of your substance of choice.

The big drawback to this album is that it takes too long to get going. The first several songs aren't nearly as good as the rest of the album. Other than that From Here to There lays on the rhythms and when the last few stuttered drums fade you're left with ringing ears and dilated eyes.
